eTA 신청 시 준비물, 비용, 소요 시간 및 승인
캐나다 eTA를 위해 준비해야 할 것은 여권과 해외 결제가 가능한 카드(Visa, Master, Amex 등)이며 온라인 웹사이트를 통해 신청할 수 있고 결제 비용은 캐나다 달러로 $7 입니다. 작성할 때 문서를 저장 할 수 없으므로 신청하실 때 끝까지 마무리 하시는 게 좋습니다. 보통 신청하시는 분에 따라 다르겠지만 소요되는 시간은 15분 정도에서 30분 정도입니다. 신청하고 나면 1시간 이내로 승인되며 이메일을 통해 승인서를 받게 됩니다. 가끔 정크메일로 전송되기도 하니 정크메일도 확인하세요. 경우에 따라 승인 전에 증빙서류를 제출해야 하기도 하는데 이 경우에는 안내문이 이메일로 발송되며 승인도 2~3일 정도 걸리게 됩니다.

링크로 들어가서 아래 순서에 따라 작성해 주세요. 신청 버튼 누르기 전에 중요한 알림이 나오는데 가족이라도 각각 한명씩 작성해야 하며 결제 후 영수증은 후에 받거나 인쇄할 수 없으므로 바로 인쇄하라는 내용과 eTA 승인은 이메일을 통해 전달되며 스팸 메일로 전송되기도 하니 확인하라는 내용입니다. 또한 작성한 내용을 저장할 수 없으며 신청 시 시간 제한이 있으니 시간이 더 필요할 경우 세션 타임아웃 경고가 보이면 세션 계속을 클릭하여 작성하라는 내용입니다.

Instructions to enter your passport information
No를 선택하면 여권 정보 입력 안내에 대한 정보가 나옵니다. 간단히 설명하자면 여권 번호는 여권의 상단에 있는 8-11자 정도의 문자와 숫자의 조합이며 숫자 0과 알파벳 O, 숫자 1과 알파벳 I 를 입력 시 주의하여야 하고 특수문자나 공백을 입력하지 말라는 내용입니다. 또한 여권 발급 국가에 대해서는 발행국(Issuing Country) 부분을 참조하여 코드선택 시 주의해야 합니다. 또한 실수 할 경우 공항에서만 알 수 있고 그럴 경우 공항에서 eTA를 다시 신청해야 하며 상황에 따라 마지막 순간에 eTA를 받는 것이 불가능하여 캐나다행 항공편에 탑승 할 수 없다는 경고문이 있습니다.

eTA 결제 방법
결제창이 뜨면 영문 이름, 카드번호, 월/년도, CVV(카드 뒤의 서명란 옆 부분에 있는 숫자 3자리)를 입력하세요.
결제가 완료 되고 나면 Transaction Approved 라고 뜨며 Order ID와 Payment information이 보입니다.
eTA 신청 완료
eTA 신청이 완료되면 아래와 같은 화면이 나타납니다.

You will soon receive an email from Immigration, Refugees and citizenship Canada.
Make sure to check the junk mail folder of the email address you provided on your eTA application form. Some spam filters may block automated emails from IRCC.
If your eTA is approved
You will receive an email that includes your eTA number.
Keep this number in case you need to contact us or want to check the status of your eTA in the future.
If we need more information to make a decision
You can expect an email within 72 hours with instructions for the next steps.

신청이 완료되고 나면 빠르면 1시간 이내에 또는 시간이 걸리면 2-3일 후에 아래와 같은 승인 이메일이 도착합니다.
